Joanna Sochacka (*1993) is a student of Andrzej Pikul at the Cracow Academy of Music. She has won many prizes in national and international piano competitions, including the International Chopin Competition for Children and Youngsters
in Szafarnia (III prize ), the Emma Altberg Competition in Lodz ( I prize), the International Chopin Competition in Narva, Estonia( distinction), the International Moritz Moszkowski Piano Competition in Kielce ( II prize), the International Juliusz Zarębski Competition in Warsaw( II prize), The Ludwik Stefański and Halina Czerny-Stefańska Chopin Piano Tournament in Cracow( I prize) and the International Piano Competition in Castellana Grotte, Italy( I prize).
She has taken part in many piano festivals in Poland (including National Philharmonic in Warsaw, Cracow, Zakopane, Katowice and Przemysl) and abroad ( France, Austria, Spain, Moldova and Germany). She has been awarded grants by many scholarship foundations in Poland and abroad, from 2008 to 2012 she was supported by the Polish National Fund for Talented Children .
She has honed her skills under many outstanding teachers, including : Dina Yoffe, Anna Malikova, Janusz Olejniczak, Akiko Ebi, Paul Badura-Skoda, Victor Derevianko, Thomas Ungar, Joaquín Soriano, Ralf Nattkemper, Paul Gulda, Stanisław Tichonow, Andrzej Tatarski, Uta Wayand, Waldemar Wojtal, Martino Tirimo, Konstanze Eickhorst and Tamara Stefanovich.
