Johannes Põlda (07.01.1993; Kuressaare, Estonia) started his violin studies when he was 4 years old in Kuressaare Music School. In 2005 his studies continued with docent Ivi Tivik at Tallinn Music High School. Since 2012 Johannes studies at Sibelius Academy in Helsinki with prof. Mari Tampere-Bezrodny.
Johannes has successfully participated in numerous international and national competitions: International Competition „Young Musician“ in Tallinn (2002) - 3rd prize; George Enescu International Violin Competition – diploma; Estonian Youth String Palyers Competition (2003) – 3rd prize; International Violin Competition in Sigulda (2008 and 2009) – special prize (2008) and laureate (2008 and 2009); Estonian Youth String Players Competition - Festival (2010 and 2011) – diploma
Johannes has also played in front of many orchestras ( Tbilisi National Symphony Orchestra, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Haapsalu City Orchestra etc.) and also participated in various masterclasses by Daniel Nodel, Michael Vaiman, Mari Tampere-Bezrodny, Anna-Liisa Bezrodny and Oleh Kryha.
